Tinubu’s aide criticises Atiku’s promise to bring back subsidy
Presidential aide Sunday Dare has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s pledge to restore fuel subsidy if elected in 2027, calling it “drenched in hypocrisy and deceit,” according to Punch Newspapers. Dare accused Atiku of manipulating Nigerians and threatening ongoing economic recovery. Atiku made the pledge during a Facebook Live session, questioning how subsidy removal savings had been spent on healthcare, education or security. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike also attacked Atiku, calling him a “voodoo economist” and accusing him of inconsistency, noting Atiku previously supported subsidy removal in 2022 before reversing his stance ahead of the 2027 election.
