Principal faces felony charges after recording devices discovered in multiple girls’ locker rooms

A West Virginia high school principal, Eric James, 53, faces felony charges after officials discovered recording devices in girls’ locker rooms and additional devices at his home, according to a report by the New York Post.

James, principal of Brooke High School in Wellsburg, was suspended immediately after four devices were found in female physical education locker rooms and a dressing area used by the school’s dance team.

He was charged with intercepting electronic communications and breaking and entering a non-residence. Officials said the devices were sent for forensic analysis, and additional units were seized from his home.

The school district said it would offer supportive measures to students, parents and staff as investigations continue.
