Putin declares three-day ceasefire in Ukraine as Kushner, Witkoff arrive in Moscow
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a three-day cease-fire in the Ukraine war Saturday as Jared Kushner and US envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Moscow for peace talks, according to a report by the New York Post. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin ordered a halt to strikes on Kyiv starting at midnight to accommodate the American delegation.
Witkoff and Kushner were greeted at Vnukovo Airport by Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev and are expected to travel to Kyiv Sunday to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky. The visit follows CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s Moscow trip on Aug. 25. Trump said Friday his team was pushing for peace after more than four years of war.
