Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois praises Raphinha ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has praised Barcelona captain Raphinha, claiming the Brazilian does not always receive the recognition his performances deserve. According to Barca Universal, Courtois described Raphinha as a key player for Barcelona and highlighted the difference in the team when he is unavailable.

The 29-year-old has started the season in impressive form, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in eight appearances. Raphinha was omitted from the 30-man 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist after missing 26 matches last season through injury. Courtois also warned that Real Madrid will need to contain the Brazilian when the two Spanish giants meet in El Clasico next month.
