Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Reno Omokri, has said President Bola Tinubu opposes the release of certain FBI records because they contain sensitive personal information, including DNA and blood details.
Speaking on Sunday Politics, Omokri dismissed speculation surrounding Tinubu’s records in the United States, insisting there were “no mysteries” about the President.
According to Channels Television, Omokri also maintained that Tinubu has no criminal record and argued that the existence of FBI records does not establish criminal wrongdoing.
Omokri compared the privacy concerns to DNA information, saying such personal data could potentially be misused if publicly disclosed.
“That is why the President does not want to release these FBI records,” Omokri said, claiming they contain DNA and blood information.
His comments come amid continuing public debate over demands for the release of US government records relating to Tinubu ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
