Rich Dad Poor Dad author Kiyosaki reveals $1.2bn debt strategy
“Rich Dad Poor Dad” author Robert Kiyosaki has repeatedly touted carrying $1.2 billion in debt tied to his real-estate investments, describing it as a deliberate wealth-building strategy.
As reported by New York Post, his ex-wife and business partner, Kim Kiyosaki, told Vanity Fair the figure reflects debt across roughly 1,500 jointly owned apartment units, not personal liability, estimating his actual share at $30-60 million.
However, financial experts offered mixed reactions: one called the strategy “very normal” for real-estate investors, while another warned that leverage on that scale could quickly turn into what he termed “Poor Dad bankruptcy” if property values reversed.
