Rodri set for Barcelona debut as Flick reveals limited minutes plan

Barcelona midfielder Rodri is set to make his long-awaited debut against Athletic Club on Thursday, with head coach Hansi Flick confirming the former Manchester City star will feature for a few minutes. According to GOAL.com, Flick wants to introduce the Spain international gradually after his recent arrival at Barcelona.

Rodri missed the club’s opening LaLiga victory over Elche but has since joined his new teammates in training. Flick believes his experience and composure could help Barcelona improve their control in midfield alongside Pedri. The German coach also confirmed Gavi will miss the Athletic clash because of a minor knee problem but expects the youngster to return within a week.
