Saibari and Gnabry forced off injured during Bayern’s showdown with Dortmund
FC Bayern Munich suffered a major setback during Saturday’s crucial Der Klassiker match against Borussia Dortmund, losing both Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry to injury within the opening 30 minutes.
According to Bavarian Football Works, attacker Saibari was taken off around the 25th minute after twisting his ankle following a challenge with Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
Shortly after, Gnabry was also forced off. Saibari was replaced by Nathaniel Brown, while Josip Stanišić came on for Gnabry, prompting a positional shift that moved Alphonso Davies up to the wing.
The quick succession of setbacks leaves Bayern with four key attackers sidelined, compounding concerns as both Saibari and Gnabry had only recently recovered from muscular issues.
Interestingly, manager Aaron Danks opted not to bring on youngster Lennart Karl, leaving open the possibility of a second-half appearance.
