Sanwo-Olu wins 2026 Global Good Governance Award in Washington

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been named recipient of the 2026 Global Transformation and Good Governance Prize by the Millennium Excellence Awards USA. According to Vanguard News, Commissioner for Information Gbenga Omotoso said the honour follows a rigorous review of Lagos State’s developmental achievements under Sanwo-Olu’s leadership.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene of Kumasi, will personally confer the award at a ceremony at Washington’s Warner Theatre on August 29. Sanwo-Olu will also deliver a keynote address positioning Lagos to diaspora investors. Past laureates include Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan, Wole Soyinka and Aliko Dangote.
