Serena, Venus Williams get US Open doubles wildcard

Serena and Venus Williams will reunite in women’s doubles at the US Open after receiving a wildcard from the United States Tennis Association, according to Sporting Tribune.

The pairing marks their first Grand Slam doubles appearance in four years, having last played together at the 2022 US Open. The two-time US Open doubles champions, who have won 14 Grand Slam titles together, reunited at last month’s Cincinnati Open but lost in three sets.

Serena, 44, also partnered Carlos Alcaraz in this year’s US Open mixed doubles, reaching the quarter-finals. Venus, 46, has additionally received a singles wildcard for the tournament.
