Sheikh Gumi kept my Moroccan wife for 11 months after we went for counselling – Man alleges

Nasiru Musa Idris has accused Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi of keeping his Moroccan wife away from him for 11 months after he took her to the cleric for counselling.

According to SaharaReporters, Idris alleged that his wife stopped answering his calls after meeting Gumi. He also claimed the cleric sought another marriage certificate and later attempted to facilitate the separation. Gumi denied the allegations, saying the woman had left Nigeria and was with her parents in Morocco. He threatened to sue Idris for defamation, while his aide also denied that he kept the woman in his home.
