Soldier jailed 12 years for plotting to rape baby
A Household Cavalry soldier has been jailed for 12 years after plotting to sexually abuse two young children following an online arrangement with a woman he believed to be their mother.
Daily Mirror reports that Graham Jarvis, 38, was unknowingly communicating with an undercover police officer when he planned to travel from his London barracks to Wales to carry out the abuse.
At Southwark Crown Court, Judge Adam Hiddleston said Jarvis’s messages showed a “cold and clinical” intent, ruling out any suggestion of mere fantasy.
Jarvis was convicted of two counts of attempting to arrange a child sex offence and must serve at least eight years before being considered for release, followed by two years on licence.
