‘Stop inviting dictators’: Falana blasts NBA for hosting ex-Liberian President Weah at annual conference

Senior Advocate Femi Falana has publicly condemned the Nigerian Bar Association for inviting former Liberian President George Weah to deliver a keynote address at its 66th Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, accusing Weah’s administration of undermining judicial independence and defying ECOWAS Court judgments.

“The Bar Association must stop inviting dictators in Africa to come and address us,” Falana declared in a video posted on the NBA’s YouTube channel on Monday.

According to The Punch, Falana alleged that Weah’s regime captured Liberia’s judiciary, forcing citizens to seek redress at the ECOWAS Court, and that Weah twice refused to comply with ECOWAS Court rulings — including one awarding $200,000 to a dismissed Supreme Court justice ordered reinstated.
