Terrorists kidnap five Islamic clerics after Tinubu re-election prayer at Yari’s home
Five Islamic clerics have been reportedly abducted by suspected terrorists shortly after attending a special prayer gathering for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid at the Talata Mafara residence of former Zamfara Governor and APC Presidential Campaign Director-General Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, SaharaReporters reports.
The victims — identified as Imam Yahuza, Magawata Abdullahi, Malam Shehu Dakko, Imam Bala Fagon and Na’ibi Tasi’u — were among approximately 1,000 Islamic scholars who gathered on Saturday, September 12, to pray for Tinubu’s electoral victory.
The clerics had travelled from communities in Bakura and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas to attend the gathering.
Security agencies had not issued any official statement at press time, and the Zamfara State police spokesperson had not responded to inquiries.
