Texas conservatives ‘breaking rank’ and pledging to vote Democrat!
Some Texas conservatives are pledging to cross party lines to vote for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa over Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, according to The Washington Post.
Frustrated voters, organizing under a “Break Rank” movement, cite Abbott’s refusal to block data center expansion as their breaking point. A recent Fox News poll shows Hinojosa within a point of Abbott, prompting Cook Political Report to downgrade the race from “solid” to “likely” Republican.
Hinojosa hopes to peel off enough independents and disillusioned Republicans for an upset, though analysts note Texas remains reliably GOP territory.
