Three men arrested in Oyo over alleged homosexuality
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men over alleged homosexuality following an intelligence-led operation in Saki, according to a report by Peoples Gazette.
The command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, said in a statement on Friday that the operation followed intelligence received on September 29, 2026.
Olayinka said the commissioner of police directed the monitoring unit to verify the intelligence, leading to the arrest of Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.
He said the suspects allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts during preliminary investigations.
“Two of the suspects reportedly confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the third suspect on multiple occasions, with the latter allegedly regarded by them as their “wife,” he said.
“Investigations are, however, ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether any other individuals are connected to the matter.”
