TikTok permanently bans Carter Efe over policy violations
Nigerian entertainer Carter Efe has been permanently banned from TikTok after repeatedly violating the platform’s community guidelines.
Daily Post reports that the ban, effected on Wednesday, has shut down his main short-form video platform, where he built a large following through comedy skits, music promotion and live broadcasts.
Confirming the development, TikTok said his account “was permanently banned because of multiple policy violations,” without specifying the exact infractions.
Carter Efe rose to fame through comedic TikTok content before expanding into livestreaming and music, becoming one of Nigeria’s most recognisable online personalities.
Meanwhile, the ban raises questions about the future of his online career, given how central the platform had become to his brand and audience reach.
