Tinubu: Reforms have set Nigeria on the course for $1tn economy
President Bola Tinubu said his administration’s economic reforms have placed Nigeria on the path to a $1 trillion economy by 2030, according to a Punch Newspapers report.
Represented by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda at the Asiwaju Scorecard Series in Abuja, Tinubu cited external reserves rising to $52.7 billion, non-oil revenue growth, and Q2 2026 GDP growth of 4.43 percent as evidence of progress.
He said Nigeria’s ambition requires infrastructure investment, including a five-port maritime corridor linking Lagos, Ondo, Ibom, Port Harcourt and Calabar, plus rail and road networks connecting the country to regional markets.
