Tinubu urges NLNG to make gas affordable to Nigerians, end flaring

President Bola Tinubu has urged the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited to deepen domestic gas utilisation, end flaring and make energy cheaper for Nigerians, according to The Nation.

Speaking while receiving NLNG’s board at the State House, Tinubu said the company must convert flared gas into economic benefit rather than treating it as an environmental liability, while pledging further incentives to support growth.

NLNG Managing Director Adeleye Falade said the ongoing Train 7 project, employing about 16,000 workers, would increase the company’s domestic cooking gas capacity by 50% once completed, adding that 100% of its cooking gas already goes to the Nigerian market.
