Trump orders US flags lowered in tribute to Dolly Parton

President Donald Trump has ordered all U.S. flags lowered for one week to mourn country singer Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday at 80. According to Peoples Gazette, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Parton was “one of the greatest country singers, and far beyond, EVER,” directing flags lowered nationwide from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in an Instagram post without disclosing the cause. The Tennessee-born singer, famous for hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You,” wrote over 3,000 songs and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide across her career.
