Trump says tariff-free beef imports from Brazil, Argentina coming to ease prices

President Donald Trump said Friday that tariff-free beef imports from Brazil, Argentina and other countries would soon arrive in the US as his administration battles high prices, according to a report by The Hill.

Trump had paused tariffs on 300,000 metric tons of beef for 90 days, selling at a 25% discount, to ease costs while letting ranchers rebuild herds. The move drew criticism from cattle industry groups and GOP lawmakers.

Trump also signed executive orders allowing ranchers to sell self-processed products and requiring country-of-origin labeling, while accusing major meat processors of monopolistic practices harming farmers.
