‘I needed money for my wedding’: Love-struck suspect among three arrested for N21m Lagos kidnap

Three members of a cross-state kidnap syndicate that abducted a Lagos businesswoman and collected N21 million ransom — including a bottle of schnapps, a power bank and one kilogram of frozen turkey — have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit after being traced to their hideout in Agadagba community, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The suspects — Semi Buawe, 35, a sawmill worker who admitted involvement in kidnapping since 2010; Oluwatomi Obosi, 37, who confessed he joined the gang to raise money for his wedding; and Bamure Telemowei — held their victim captive for three days in Ijedodo bush before releasing her after ransom payment, according to Vanguard

Gang leader, identified only as “ID,” remains at large and is linked to kidnapping operations across multiple states.
