Trump tells new press secretary Zacharia to ‘reconsider’ her job
United States President Donald Trump has suggested that newly appointed White House press secretary Katie Zacharia reconsider her position following criticism of her first media briefing.
The development was reported on Friday by CNBC and corroborated by Reuters and the Associated Press.
Trump said Zacharia had faced harsh media scrutiny and questioned whether remaining in the demanding role would be appropriate for her.
The president reportedly expressed concern about her happiness and personal life, although he did not announce her dismissal.
Zacharia, who recently replaced Karoline Leavitt, faced criticism after delivering a brief inaugural press conference on Tuesday.
Her appearance lasted approximately 14 minutes, during which she answered questions from only three news organisations.
The former Trump Media adviser also faced questions about her legal qualifications after reports emerged that she had not passed a bar examination.
Trump had initially praised her performance following the briefing.
Her future at the White House remains uncertain, with no official departure announced.
