Trump’s latest map claims Canada, Mexico, Greenland under US flag
President Trump posted a map on Monday featuring the American flag superimposed over the US, Canada, Mexico, part of Central America, Greenland, Iceland and Caribbean islands including Cuba and Jamaica.
The Hill reports that while Trump had previously pushed to take over Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal, the inclusion of Mexico and Caribbean islands marks a new expansion of his territorial ambitions.
The post comes amid US-Canada trade tensions, with both nations imposing tariffs on each other’s goods. Trump also recently signed an order renaming Lake Ontario to “Lake America,” and on Sunday posted a map labelling New Mexico “New America.”
