Confusion as Osun APC disowns petition challenging Adeleke’s governorship victory
The All Progressives Congress (APC) legal team in Osun State has disowned a petition filed in the party’s name to challenge Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in last month’s governorship election.
According to Daily Trust, the tribunal listed two petitions, including one purportedly filed by APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and the party against Adeleke and others.
However, APC legal team leader, Adekunle Adegoke (SAN), said the petition was unauthorised, stressing that the party had decided against challenging the election outcome. Adegoke said the legal team identified grounds for a challenge but opted for peace, with Oyebamiji subsequently congratulating Adeleke.
