UEFA rule blocks Arsenal and Liverpool from potential Champions League fixtures

Arsenal and Liverpool face restrictions in Thursday’s Champions League league-phase draw after UEFA introduced a new rule preventing the same fixture from being repeated at the same venue in three successive seasons. Arsenal cannot be drawn away to Inter Milan after making consecutive trips to San Siro, while Liverpool cannot host Real Madrid at Anfield after facing the Spanish giants at home in each of the last two campaigns.

According to Daily Mirror, The clubs can still face those opponents at the opposite venue. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Aston Villa will discover their opponents during Thursday’s draw as the revamped 36-team league phase enters its third season
