UNGA: ‘An alleged heroin trafficker like President Tinubu has no business meeting with President Trump’ – US firm

A US-based lobbying firm hired by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said President Bola Tinubu will face embarrassment if he attends the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to Peoples Gazette.

In a statement on X, Von Batten-Montague-York said there was no plan to arrest Tinubu but alleged his past involvement in heroin trafficking would be raised. The firm also claimed a meeting between Tinubu and US President Donald Trump would not take place.

The allegations have not been independently established. Presidential spokespersons Bayo Onanuga and Daniel Bwala did not respond to requests for comment. The claims come amid renewed political exchanges ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.
