US deports right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos to UK

British right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States to the United Kingdom after being detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to BBC News.

The Department of Homeland Security said the 41-year-old former Breitbart editor was deported Friday after being arrested at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on August 27. DHS stated Yiannopoulos had overstayed his visa since arriving in the US in May 2019.

Once a vocal Trump supporter who headlined “Gays for Trump” at the 2016 Republican convention, Yiannopoulos has since criticised the president while still backing his broader agenda.
