US offers $18m reward for information on two ISIS-K leaders

The United States has offered up to $18 million for information on two senior Islamic State Khorasan Province, ISIS-K, leaders, according to Punch Newspapers.

The US State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme announced $8 million for details on ISIS-K leader Shahab al-Muhajir, also known as Sanaullah Ghafari, who has led the group since June 2020, and $10 million for Obaidullah, also called Salahuddin, a close associate managing operations and finances.

The programme linked Obaidullah’s associates to the March 2024 Crocus City Hall attack in Russia that killed 145 people. ISIS-K has also been tied to the 2021 Kabul airport bombing.
