US quietly withdraws diplomats, families from Middle East amid Iranian attack threats
The United States has begun reducing diplomatic personnel across the Middle East amid growing fears of escalating hostilities involving Iran.
According to CNN, the Trump administration is relocating diplomats and other government employees as intelligence officials warn of potential attacks targeting Americans.
The State Department ordered nonessential personnel and their families to leave Saudi Arabia while adjusting staffing levels at other diplomatic missions across the region.
US officials reportedly believe Iran has intensified preparations for possible attacks against American personnel, raising security concerns across several countries.
The security measures follow months of military tensions between Washington, Israel and Tehran since the conflict began in February.
American diplomatic missions have been placed under heightened security arrangements, with officials continuously assessing threats and reviewing personnel deployments.
The developments come amid speculation about further US military action against Iran, although President Donald Trump has reportedly not made a final decision.
Washington maintains that protecting American personnel remains a priority.
