Karoline Leavitt to step down as White House press secretary – Trump announces
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down at the end of the month, President Trump announced, according to BBC. Trump called Leavitt, 28, one of his “most trusted aides,” saying she would depart to spend time with her young children, adding she would become a top outside advisor and influential Republican voice.
Leavitt, the youngest person ever to hold the role, said balancing motherhood with the demanding job had made the decision “bittersweet.” She welcomed her second child in May and returned from maternity leave last month. Her successor has not yet been named.
