Vinicius Jr booed by Real Madrid fans despite Champions League win
Vinicius Jr was booed by sections of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd during Real Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League victory over Inter Milan, with supporters expressing frustration at his performance. According to Madrid Universal, the Brazilian forward failed to score or provide an assist and was criticised for his lack of precision in the final third.
The reaction came despite Vinicius recently signing a new contract that will keep him at Madrid until 2032. He was substituted in the 87th minute and received further boos, although other supporters applauded him in response. Vinicius acknowledged the crowd as he left the pitch, while manager Jose Mourinho defended the forward after the match, admitting he is not yet at his best but praising his work rate and commitment.
