Zamfara governor: Wike must choose APC or other parties, not both

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has asked FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to clarify his allegiance, saying he cannot support the APC while backing other parties.

According to SaharaReporters, Lawal made the remarks during an interview on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

He said Wike should choose a political side and join the APC if he intends to support the ruling party.

Lawal said APC governors remained opposed to the Rainbow Coalition, a cross-party platform associated with Wike and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The governor added that he would discuss Wike’s political position with Tinubu after the President returns from France.

Wike has repeatedly declared support for Tinubu while remaining a PDP member.
