2027: Datti Baba-Ahmed declares he won’t campaign against ‘uncle Tinubu’
Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed says he will not campaign against President Bola Tinubu by promoting Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 election.
According to P.M. News, Baba-Ahmed said on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast that his stance was based on fairness, insisting, “I will not disadvantage Uncle Tinubu,” and that he did not want to unduly favour opposition contenders.
He maintained the position was not a withdrawal of support for Obi, his former running mate, saying he still stood by him despite disagreeing with some of his decisions, while also describing Atiku as a father figure he deeply respects.
