2027: Investigate me over $16bn power projects scandal — Atiku

Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has denied wrongdoing in the alleged $16 billion National Integrated Power Projects scandal, according to Daily Post Nigeria.

In a Wednesday statement, Atiku said the resurfacing allegations, tied to his tenure alongside former President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007, were a distraction from questions facing the Tinubu administration. He said the National Assembly had investigated the projects without ever inviting him to respond, and that while he chaired the National Council on Privatisation, he disagreed with the power project’s concept and did not oversee its implementation.

He demanded to be formally investigated and prosecuted if evidence exists.
