Steps to apply for birth, death certificates online in Nigeria
The Federal Government has launched a digital platform allowing Nigerians to register births and deaths, apply for birth attestation, and verify certificates online. Announced by the National Orientation Agency on behalf of the National Population Commission, the portal aims to eliminate queues and paperwork. Birth registration for children under five stays free at NPC centres, while online applications attract a ₦5,000 fee. Death registration remains free.
