Disney signs deal allowing TikTok users to add film extracts
Disney has signed an agreement with TikTok allowing users to add extracts from its films and characters to content created on the video-sharing platform.
According to Vanguard, Disney described the partnership as a “first-of-its-kind agreement” that will feature fan-created content through a curated Disney+ feed.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The entertainment giant said the partnership forms part of its strategy to use technology to strengthen storytelling and monetisation.
Disney has already introduced vertical video feeds featuring Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars productions on Disney+, adopting a scrolling format similar to TikTok.
