US Congress has Fauci’s phone
A US Senate panel investigating Anthony Fauci has obtained a copy of his government-issued iPhone, potentially giving lawmakers access to additional records concerning his actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the Department of Health and Human Services transferred the phone copy to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Republican Senator Ron Johnson.
The development comes as congressional Republicans intensify scrutiny of the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director. Another Senate panel has also considered contempt proceedings following Fauci’s refusal to answer questions during recent testimony.
