Badenoch’s party proposes barring foreign nationals, including Nigerians, from social housing
The UK Conservative Party has proposed barring foreign nationals, including Nigerians, from accessing new social housing in England if it wins the next election.
According to P.M. News, the plan, led by Kemi Badenoch, would end new tenancies for certain foreign nationals and require some existing tenants to leave within six months, freeing up an estimated 228,144 homes.
The Conservatives accused Labour of losing control of immigration, but Labour dismissed the proposal as “unserious” and unworkable. EU citizens with settled status would remain unaffected.
