Forgive Nigerian looters – Orji kalu begs Tinubu
Abia North Senator and former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has urged President Bola Tinubu to offer former Nigerian leaders accused of looting public funds a two-year amnesty window to voluntarily return stolen money without facing prosecution, arguing the recovered funds would significantly boost the economy.
Speaking on News Central TV’s 60 Minutes With Mr Kay, as reported by Daily Post, Kalu said billions of naira allegedly looted since 1960 were sitting idle in private residences across Abuja and outside the formal banking system.
“President Tinubu should give a window of two years and say, no matter from 1960, no matter where you keep the money, return it to Nigeria, nobody will touch you. You are pardoned,” he said, adding that repatriating such funds into the banking system would unlock significant economic growth.
