Air Peace resumes normal operations after unions’ picketing
Air Peace has resumed normal flight operations after aviation unions picketed the airline’s services at major airports on Tuesday morning, according to Tribune Online. The industrial action, led jointly by NUATE, ATSSSAN and NAAPE, disrupted operations at the Abuja and Lagos international airports, stranding hundreds of passengers. A ticketing agent at the Lagos terminal said union members withdrew around 3pm, after which flights gradually resumed. The unions had protested alleged non-remittance of the five per cent Ticket Sales Charge by some airlines, a dispute that remains unresolved despite NCAA’s appeal for restraint.
