Real reason I always play witch, wicked roles in Nollywood movies – Patience Ozokwor
Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, beloved as “Mama G,” has revealed that her decades-long portrayal of witches, wicked mothers and antagonists in Nigerian films is not merely a career choice but a divinely assigned calling designed to expose the consequences of bad behaviour.
Speaking during a live-streamed interview with content creator Carter Efe, as reported by Daily Post, Ozokwor said: “I think God gave me that niche. I hate every ill because I don’t like injustice, war, and rancour. When you give me those roles, I try to bring everything into them.”
The actress framed her villainous portrayals as social instruction through storytelling, saying her performances were carefully crafted to show audiences the consequences of living badly — and the rewards of living well.
