Leicester City put up for sale for more than £200m
Leicester City have been placed on the market for more than £200 million as owners King Power begin the process of ending their 16-year association with the club. According to the BBC, global investment bank Citigroup has been appointed to oversee the sale, with the club’s assets, including the 32,000-capacity King Power Stadium and Seagrave training ground, included in the package.
Belgian sister club OH Leuven is also part of the proposed deal.King Power acquired Leicester in 2010 for £35 million and oversaw the club’s remarkable Premier League title triumph in 2016 and FA Cup success in 2021. However, Leicester have since suffered consecutive relegations from the Premier League and Championship, increasing pressure from supporters for a change in ownership. Citigroup is reportedly seeking a valuation exceeding £200 million.
