There’s no leader that’s impacted Nigeria like Babangida – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former military President General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida on his 85th birthday, describing the retired general as a leader who “impacted Nigeria in ways no other leader has” during his eight-year rule.

In a statement by spokesman Bayo Onanuga, as reported by Daily Trust, Tinubu credited Babangida with expanding the economy, establishing lasting infrastructure and creating agencies that continue to serve the national interest — including the creation of several states he attributed to the former leader’s “foresight, wisdom and sense of equity.”

“Like him or not, former President Babangida impacted Nigeria in ways no other leader has,” Tinubu said, wishing the elder statesman continued good health at his Minna hilltop residence in Niger State.
