17-year-old accused of killing mother, brother after ChatGPT searches
A 17-year-old Massachusetts boy, Arjun Aravind, has been charged with murdering his mother and younger brother after prosecutors said he used ChatGPT to search for “theoretical ideas or fantasies” about killing his family.
According to Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Aravind was arraigned on two murder counts and assault charges and pleaded not guilty. He was ordered held without bail.
Vanguard reports that prosecutors said his mother, 45-year-old Sudha Venkatesan, and 14-year-old brother, Siddharth Aravind, were found dead at their Acton home. Authorities said both appeared to have suffered blunt-force trauma.
Aravind was arrested in his mother’s missing Honda Accord hours after the discovery.
