Prince Harry, Elton John, Liz Hurley ordered to pay £9.5m after losing Daily Mail case
Prince Harry and six other high-profile figures, including Sir Elton John and Liz Hurley, have been ordered to pay an initial £9.54m in legal costs to Associated Newspapers Limited after losing their High Court privacy case, with a further £25m potentially owed.
According to BBC, Judge Mr Justice Nicklin dismissed the claimants’ allegations of unlawful information-gathering on 7 July, ruling they had failed to prove their case and ordering costs on an indemnity basis.
The group, including Sadie Frost and Baroness Doreen Lawrence, must pay by 28 August and has until 2 October to appeal.
