Don’t deceive yourselves, northerners unhappy with Tinubu — Rufai Oseni

Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni has claimed that many northern Nigerians are dissatisfied with President Bojla Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Daily Post, Oseni made the remarks on Monday during Arise Television’s Morning Show while discussing political developments.

“Do not deceive yourself, you see, politicians are the most delusional and the most optimistic people on earth.

“Because you are giving tonnes of people money in the north they are shouting your name, they are saying everything is well. Elections will shock you. Do not deceive yourself.

“The north is not happy with this administration,” he said.

Oseni acknowledged that his assessment could attract criticism for generalising northern public opinion, describing it as an interpretation of political sentiment.

He also questioned the loyalty of governors who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.

Oseni suggested that internal problems within their former party, rather than genuine political alignment, might have influenced their decisions.

His assessment was not supported by specific polling figures.
