UEFA force Barcelona into kit change ahead of Champions League PSG clash
UEFA has required Barcelona to make a unique shirt change ahead of their Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, according to a report by SPORTbible. Despite traveling to the Parc des Princes in prime form with an 11-match winning streak, the Spanish giants are unable to wear any of their three current-season kits.
The restriction applies to their primary Blaugrana shirt, the Kobe Bryant-inspired second kit, and their blue alternative. The decision comes after UEFA ruled out all three current options based on television criteria, citing the necessity for clear color differentiation between the two teams during the live broadcast.
As a result, Hansi Flick’s side will wear the bright orange kit from Nike’s ‘Total 90’ collection, which they previously used against PSG last season. Official promotional material has already shown star players Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Anthony Gordon featuring in last season’s throwback kit.
