Timi Frank alleges threats to Atiku’s life, APC rejects accusations
Former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary Timi Frank has alleged threats to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s life and political freedom ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to Channels Television, Frank raised the concerns in an open letter to US President Donald Trump and other international leaders, warning of possible intimidation, arrest or detention.
He urged international intervention, stating, “These allegations must be independently and urgently investigated. Given their gravity, however, they cannot be dismissed or ignored until it is too late to prevent harm.”
However, APC Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson Dele Alake denied any assassination plot against Atiku or other opposition figures.
Alake urged security agencies to invite Frank to substantiate his allegations.
The council also dismissed claims that Atiku’s security personnel had been withdrawn, insisting that he remained protected by the police and Department of State Services.
It urged politicians to avoid unsubstantiated allegations capable of heightening tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
