Barcelona report PSG to UEFA over ‘offensive’ Halloween tifo
Barcelona have reportedly lodged a complaint with UEFA against Paris Saint-Germain over a controversial banner displayed by home supporters before Tuesday’s Champions League encounter at the Parc des Princes.
According to Sports Illustrated, Barcelona were unhappy with a Halloween-themed tifo depicting a masked figure using a bloody chainsaw to cut through the club’s badge, accompanied by the words “Parisian-style Massacre.”
The display was enhanced by pyrotechnics designed to create the impression of sparks coming from the chainsaw. Reports also suggest Barcelona officials requested the removal of other banners containing explicit language directed at the Spanish club.
French newspaper L’Equipe reported that PSG had approved the controversial choreography, further fuelling Barcelona’s displeasure. On the pitch, PSG secured a 4–2 victory, ending Barcelona’s 11-match winning streak at the start of the 2026–27 season.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick acknowledged PSG’s superiority, saying: “PSG showed they are a better team than us.” He added: “We lost, but we learned. Mistakes happen.” Barcelona will now turn their attention to Sunday’s El Clásico against Real Madrid.
